Tkach O. Scientific and theoretical substantiation and agrotechnical foundations of growing chicory root crops in the conditions of the Right-Bank forest-steppe of Ukraine

The research work highlights the results of comprehensive studies which were carried out in 2012-2018, on the theoretical and practical aspects study of growing chicory root crops for commercial and seed use in the conditions of the Right Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The yield of root crops during the pre-sowing treatment of seeds with a solution of the microelement boron increased from 25.9 to 26.4 t / ha, while the increase was 1.1-1.6 t / ha, the inulin content in root crops was from 18.5 to 18.8 % with an increase of 0.1-0.4%. From the complex application of organo-mineral fertilizers 10 t / ha of manure and N30P30K30, the root crops yield increased to 35.8 t / ha. Analysis of economic efficiency of chicory root cultivation at different row spacing showed the advantage of sowing with a combined row spacing of 3 x 30 cm + 45 cm with a profit of 61784.79 UAH / ha, profitability level of 148.1% and energy efficiency level of 4.83.
