Object of research: the process of diversification of rural development in the context of decentralization. Purpose: substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles and development of practical recommendations for organizational and economic support of diversification of rural development in terms of decentralization. Methods: monographic, induction, deduction, abstract-logical, scientific generalization, economic-statistical, statistical grouping, forecasting, graphic, SWOT-analysis, systematization, system-structural, modeling, historical-logical, synthesis. Novelty: for the first time methodological bases of research of diversification of development of rural territories in the conditions of decentralization are offered, conceptual bases of diversification of development of rural territories are proved, which provide application of the integrated approach to realization of directions of diversification of agricultural production, non-agricultural activity, organizational and legal forms of management, sources of financing for rural development, the organizational and economic mechanism of diversification of development of rural territories in the conditions of decentralization which represents open, dynamic, integrated system of interaction of subjects of diversification of development of these territories is developed; the methodical approach to diagnostics of diversification of development of rural territories, methodical approaches to an estimation of efficiency of functioning of the united territorial communities which, unlike available, are based on use of the generalizing criterion on indicators of volumes of own incomes, level of subsidy; the level of management expenditures, the level of capital expenditures, population and grouping of united territorial communities, scientific provisions for the diversification of agricultural production through the formation of state financial support for organic production are improved. Scope of application: in the activities of central and regional authorities on problems of diversification of rural development in decentralization, in particular: Subcommittee on Regional Policy and Local Budgets of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Development on its formation directions, the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in developing its conceptual framework, the Department of agro-industrial complex of the Volyn Regional State Administration in developing its organizational and economic mechanism, during the development of the draft Development Strategy of the Volyn region for 2027 by the Department of Economy and European Integration of Volyn Regional State Administration.
