Essay

The presented dissertation solves an important problem of health care – restoration and improvement of quality of life of patients with compression-ischemic and traumatic neuropathies of the upper extremity. The purpose of the work – to scientifically substantiate and develop a system of restoring the quality of life of persons with compression-ischemic and traumatic neuropathies of the upper extremity based on the integrated use of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy tools. Scientifically substantiated and developed technology of rehabilitation intervention, built within the system and on its basis, with the integrated use of Physical Therapy (kinesitherapy, neurodynamic techniques, PNF, orthosis, massage, taping, hydrokinesiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation, hardware physiotherapy), and occupational therapy (biomechanical, rehabilitation, compensatory strategies and goal-oriented therapy, CIMT therapy, mirror therapy, positioning and bimanual therapy) according to the ICF domains, rehabilitation period and taking into account the factors influencing the quality of life of patients (physical disorders, psycho-emotional state, social functioning, environment, individual problems and needs of patients), setting short-term and long-term SMART goals and objectives. Data on the use of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy as methods of retraining and forming a new motor stereotype in reconstructive surgery for severe injuries of the humeral plexus and nerves of the upper extremity, considering the level of physical and social activity of patients.
