Essay

Object of research: evaluation of the efficiency and safety of veterinary medicines for cows. Aim of the work: to develop new drugs for the treatment and prevention of obstetric pathology and subclinical mastitis of cows, to provide them with pharmaco-toxicological characteristics and to introduce them into the practice of veterinary medicine in Ukraine. Research methods: clinical (general clinical condition of the animal, ultrasound), hematological (morphological, biochemical), pharmacotoxicological (preclinical and clinical studies of drugs), atomic absorption analysis (determination of inorganic elements in serum and feed), bacteriological (isolation, identification studies of susceptibility to antimicrobial drugs of microorganisms from the genitals and udder skin) and statistical (probability of the results). Scientific novelty: For the first time in Ukraine the composition of vitamin and mineral preparations «Energolit» and «Kalfomin», blends «Vitamin blend for cattle 0.2%» and «Vitamin and mineral blend for cattle 0.3%» . 98% therapeutic efficacy of drugs and blends for the prevention of postpartum paresis of cows has been proved. For the first time in Ukraine, the composition of foaming aerosols for intrauterine administration of «Iodozol» and «Tseftiozol» was substantiated. Their safety and harmlessness have been proved, the therapeutic efficacy of postpartum endometritis in cows has been established and a scheme for the prevention of this disease has been developed. Data on the study of bactericidal action of essential vegetable oils of different composition, namely: 4% of essential oil of Siberian pine; 2% eucalyptus essential oil; 1.5% of clove essential oil; 1.5% cedar essential oil; 2% essential oil of tea tree and 1% oil solution of chlorophyll. The obtained results of antimicrobial activity of essential oils and oil solution of chlorophyll were the basis for the development of the composition of the drug for external use «Ointment for wounds», and was 97.5% effective in experimental animals. in the treatment of hyperkeratosis of the teats of the udder of cows. The effect of «Forticept Udder Wash» and «Forticept Udder Forte» on the reduction of cases of teat hyperkeratosis, increase in milk quality, and their effectiveness in the prevention of subclinical mastitis in cows. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is confirmed by 4 patents of Ukraine for a utility model. Proposed: The main provisions of the dissertation were included in the methodological recommendations: «Recommendations for the use of phytopreparation» «Ointment for wounds "in veterinary dermatology»; «Recommendations for the use of vitamin and mineral preparation" «Energolit» in veterinary medicine»; «Guidelines for obtaining quality milk and prevention of mastitis in cattle»; «Recommendations for the use of iodine-containing solution for intrauterine use in veterinary obstetrics» and textbooks: «Fundamentals of environmental toxicology» and «Biotechnology with the basics of ecology.» 2 Technical conditions of Ukraine are developed. Implemented: The materials of the dissertation are used in the educational process and scientific work at the faculties of veterinary and natural sciences of higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Implemented in production: the scheme of application of vitamin and mineral preparations «Energolit», «Kalfomin», «Vitamin blend for cattle 0.2%» and «Vitamin and mineral blend for cattle 0.3%»; veterinary drugs «Iodozol» and «Tseftiozol»; drug for external use «Ointment for wounds», drugs of the series «Forticept».
