Essay

The genesis and development of choreographic education in Ukraine during the XX – from the beginning of the XXI century are completely analyzed in the dissertation for the first time. Choreographic education is presented as an object of interdisciplinary discourse, an intermediate socio-cultural phenomenon in the field of art education. The phenomenon of choreographic education is interpreted as a kind of retransmitter of socio-cultural dynamics, which accumulates cultural, artistic, ethnic, ideological, artistic, aesthetic and pedagogical guidelines of a particular historical period in a specific way, its characteristic methods and means. It is substantiated that the key concept – choreographic education – is a complex morphological and lexical content system that covers a set of meanings, essential characteristics, terminological components. The formation of methodological bases of choreographic education in the philosophical and cultural aspect is characterized; the essential features of professionalization of dance training in different historical models are singled out. Peculiarities of formation of theoretical concepts of choreographic education in the dimension of historical, sociocultural, artistic and pedagogical determinants are denoted. Their gradual diversification within each of the directions of dance art is analyzed. The interrelation and interdependence of cultural, artistic and educational processes in the development of choreography in different historical formations is revealed. Based on the analysis of a wide range of information resources, the structure, dynamics of development of forms of organization, the specifics of the content of pre-professional, non-formal and vocational choreographic education in Ukraine are studied. It was found out that pre-professional choreographic training of children and students during the studied historical period ensured the implementation of various educational tasks and was formed in the educational and artistic fields in single-profile and multidisciplinary institutions of different functional purpose. It was researched that non-formal choreographic education was realized in the structure of the cultural and educational field in a variety of non-institutional forms of education, united centers of professional and amateur dance performance, which correlated with each other in organizational, creative and semantic areas. It was revealed that professional choreographic education in Ukraine functioned in different types of specialized educational institutions of humanitarian profile. They provided multilevel training of choreographers-performers, leaders of amateur and professional dance groups, organizers and methodologists of club and choreographic amateur performances, choreography teachers for different types of educational institutions, choreographers, directors. Based on certain criteria, the author's periodization of the development of choreographic education in Ukraine in the XX – early XXI century: 1900 – 1920 – the period of formation of professional and active development of pre-professional (in the structure of general education institutions of various departments) forms of choreographic education in different government and political regimes; 1920 – 1929 – the period of syncretism of professional and amateur forms of choreographic education, intensification of choreographic innovation in the conditions of national and cultural revival of Ukraine as a part of the Soviet Union; 1930 – 1959 – the period of centralization, structural definition, controversial development of choreographic education in the conditions of total ideologization and unification of the content of mass amateur and professional art; 1960 – 1990 – the period of diversification of forms, semantic types, directions of amateur and professional choreographic education on the background of the renaissance of Soviet dance culture; 1991 – 2010 – the period of modernization of choreographic education in the context of reforming general and professional art education in independent Ukraine, stimulated by a number of legal documents and government programs in the fields of education and culture. The artistic and pedagogical experience of famous Ukrainian choreographers is revealed and systematized, their contribution to the formation of theoretical and practical concepts of the national choreographic school is revealed. The leading progressive tendencies of development of choreographic education in Ukraine are generalized; the prospects of their creative use in the formation of the theory and practice of choreographic education in modern socio-cultural conditions are substantiated.
