Object: activity concerning the prevention of child abandonment under conditions of city territorial community; aim: to justify, develop and experimentally check the theoretical and practical principles of the system of socio-pedagogical work on prevention of social orphanhood in the territorial community of the city; methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization of experience, modelling, forecasting, projection; interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, socio-pedagogical experiment, monitoring; methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: substantiated and experimentally confirmed theoretical and practical principles of the system of socio-pedagogical work on prevention of social orphanhood in the territorial community of city; the system of social and pedagogical work on prevention of social orphanhood in the territorial community of city, which is built on a socio-pedagogical model and consists of a set of complex components: a whole-effective, object-subject, content-technological, environmental, resource; the criteria, indicators and levels of the system of socio-pedagogical work on prevention of social orphanhood are distinguished; results: developed scientific and methodological and technological support of system-complex organization of the socio-pedagogical work on prevention of social orphanhood, a regional comprehensive program of prevention of social orphanhood and strengthening of families; branch - social pedagogy.
