Zelenyak P. The criminological characteristics and prevention of crimes affecting the life and health of a child in Ukraine

This dissertation studies the complex of theoretical and practical issues of criminological characteristics and prevention of crimes against life and health of a child in Ukraine. The work gives a rationale for a number of conceptually new provisions and conclusions important for legal science, as well as the activities of law enforcement agencies. The author describes the state of scientific research on the violation of the child's rights to life and health, analyzes the criminal law and criminological approaches to crimes against the life and health of a child in Ukraine and the measures for prevention of investigated crimes. Particular attention is paid to the genesis of criminal responsibility for the violation of the child's rights to life and health. Based on the analysis of the criminal law of European countries, there have been identified certain features of criminal liability for crimes against the life and health of a child.
