Essay

The thesis is devoted to the research of the theory and practice of implementation of the students’ multicultural competence formation process at Chinese universities. The conducted research is aimed at solving a number of revealed contradictions existing in modern pedagogical theory and practice, in particular: between the actual necessity of Ukraine to train competent specialists that are able to interact with applicants from other cultures successfully under the globalized society conditions and the insufficient level of competence among graduates from multicultural high school; contradiction between the denomination of current theoretical developments on the formation of this competence among students by Chinese scholars and the poor level of comprehension and generalization of such guidance for the possibility to implement them into Ukrainian universities; contradictions between the availability of advanced experience in the students’ multicultural competence formation at Chinese universities and the lack of information and methodological support for its creative application in the educational process of Ukrainian universities. The scientific novelty of the research outcomes is that the degree of scientific elaboration of the students’ multicultural competence formation at Chinese universities has been clarified for the first time. Moreover, the theoretical scientists’ views on the students’ multicultural competence formation at Chinese universities has been analyzed and systematized as well as on the basis of comparison and generalization of the points of view of Chinese and Ukrainian scholars, the essence, structure and content of the stated students’ competence at modern universities were determined. Furthermore, on the basis of comparative analysis of the experience on the students’ multicultural competence formation at Ukrainian and Chinese universities, the general and special characteristics of these processes were revealed. The pedagogical ideas on forms, methods and means of students’ multicultural competence formation at modern universities have been further developed. A considerable number (about 69 pcs.) of unknown and littleknown documents, data, scientific developments and requirements related to the students’ multicultural competence formation at Chinese universities were introduced into the scientific research.
