Essay

The study presents a theoretical and methodological justification and the results of experimental verification of the effectiveness of pedagogical conditions for the formation of professional readiness of future border guard officers to use risk analysis methods in operational and service activities. The first chapter covers the state of development of the research problem in Ukraine and abroad, the peculiarities of the professional activities of border guard officers and the content of their training in modern conditions, foreign experience of training specialists for the application of risk analysis in law enforcement activities, as well as the essence, structure and content of the concept «professional readiness of a border guard officer for the application of risk analysis methods in operational and service activities». In the second chapter the methodology of the study is presented, criteria, indicators and levels of the formed professional readiness of border guard officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities are defined, the state of the formed readiness is presented, the pedagogical conditions are justified and the structural and functional model of formation of the professional readiness of future border guard officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities is developed. The third chapter presents the content and methodology of the implementation of pedagogical conditions for the formation of professional readiness to future border guard officers for the application of risk analysis methods, the results of the forming stage of the experiment, as well as methodological recommendations to the scientific and pedagogical staff on training future border guard officers for the application of risk analysis methods in operational and service activities. The scientific novelty of the research is that: for the first time, the pedagogical conditions for the formation of professional readiness to future border guard officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities have been grounded (increasing the motivation to study and analyze border security risks; introduction of a special thematic course for in-depth study of the essence of an integrated risk analysis model; application of innovative forms and methods of training to master the skills and abilities for analytical and creative activity; making management decisions on the protection of the state border); the essence of the concept «professional readiness of the future border officer to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities» has been defined (professionally important personal ability, which is formed in the process of professional training and is characterized by conscientious attitude to the effective solution of problems in operational and service activities, covers a system of motives, knowledge, skills and abilities, professionally important personality characteristics, which in complex combination provide effective application of procedures and methods of information processing by the border guard officer in order to identify existing and potential risks in the field of state border security), its content and structure (unity of motivational-personal, cognitive-educational and operational-resulting components); the content of criteria (personal, cognitive and activity) has been improved through the use of indicators that allow diagnosing the formed readiness of future border guard officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities; there have been further developed the process of forming the professional readiness to future border guard officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities through the structural and functional model of this process; characteristics of the levels of the formed professional readiness of future border officers to apply risk analysis methods in operational and service activities through the use of certain indicators.
