Taranec S. Development of air assault operations in military conflicts of the second half of the XX – beginning of the XXI century

The purpose of the study is to analyze the experience of origin, development and conduct of assault operations, understanding their role in hostilities in military conflicts of the second half of XX - early XXI century, research and generalization of historical experience in the development of options (methods) of assault operations, formulation of recommendations on the use of the experience of the advanced countries of the world in conducting airborne assault operations by the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of the country. In the dissertation work: the factors influencing the development of assault operations are determined; the transformation of views on variants (methods) of conducting assault actions at application of airborne assault formations is investigated; the peculiarities of variants (methods) of conducting airborne assault actions by airborne assault components of different types and kinds of troops (forces) of the leading states of the world are clarified. The object of study is the assault operations. The subject of the research was the development of airborne assault operations in the military conflicts of the second half of the XX - early XXI century.
