Essay

Object: the process of professional training of civil engineering specialists at technical universities in Germany; purpose: to substantiate the organizational and pedagogical conditions of using Germany’s good practices in reforming the modern system of professional training of civil engineering specialists in Ukraine on the basis of the holistic analysis of theoretical and practical experience of professional training of civil engineering specialists at technical universities of Germany; methodology: theoretical – the analysis and synthesis method while studying official documents, educational and methodological documentation, scientific and pedagogical references, statistical data, abstracts, dissertations etc.; comparative method to compare curricula and programs, different approaches to solving the issues under study; the theoretical generalization method, which allowed to formulate and concretize conclusions, substantiate recommendations; empirical – personal conversations and e-mail correspondence with research and teaching staff of the Technical University of Berlin; benchmarking – the analysis of websites of technical universities of Germany in order to identify positive practices in training civil engineering specialists; The scientific novelty: for the first time in the national pedagogy, a comprehensive study of professional training in civil engineering at technical universities of Germany was conducted; the organizational and legal bases of functioning of the system of training specialists in civil engineering in Germany (parallel functioning of one-tier and two-tier models; availability of two types of qualifications: according to educational and professional programs – Bachelor / Master of engineering, according to educational and scientific programs – Bachelor / Master of Sciences; regulation of the higher education system at the levels of the federation, federated states, higher educational institutions, etc.) were described; the priority present-stage tendencies of civil engineering specialist professional training at technical universities of Germany (ecologization and digitization of engineering education; dual form of education) and differences between modern German and Ukrainian systems of training future civil engineering professionals were determined; the organizational and pedagogical conditions of using Germany’s positive practices in reforming the modern system of professional training of civil engineering specialists in Ukraine were formulated; the content of the terms 'civil engineering specialist', 'professional training of civil engineering specialists' were clarified; the directions for scientific research on the topic of the thesis (the development of engineering education in different historical periods, reforming higher technical education in the context of the Bologna process, requirements for training future engineers with account for the current needs of the labor market, didactic aspects of the educational process in technical universities, specific features of organizing educational process in technical universities in Germany, continuing education in training civil engineering specialists in Germany) were specified; further development was given to the study of the specific features of the structure, content and methodology of professional training of civil engineering specialists at technical universities of Germany: compulsory internship at the enterprise before staring undergraduate studies; the content of the educational program is differentiated into compulsory modules, modules of compulsory choice, modules of choice; compulsory educational components are directly related to professional training; the absence of compulsory educational components and practical training in the Master's degree curricula; compulsory Bachelor's and Master's theses; the collective interdisciplinary work on projects; a wide range of forms of training and final control etc.
