Object: strategies of status behavior as a socio-psychological phenomenon; objective: to theoretically substantiate and empirically investigate assertiveness as a socio-psychological mechanism for choosing strategies for status behavior by students; methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization of scientific data on the research problem, systematization and interpretation of scientific materials, questionnaires, content analysis, generalization of the results obtained; novelty: a structural and functional model of assertiveness as a mechanism for choosing strategies for status behavior by students is developed and operationalized; structural components of assertiveness are determined: cognitive, emotional-regulatory, conative; the specifics of status manifestations in students are determined; results of the study: the relationship between the components of assertiveness and strategies of status behavior in students is revealed; industry: psychology.
