Essay

The dissertation theoretically summarizes and solves the important scientific problem of psychological factors of professional growth of the IT specialists. Considering the approaches existing in the organizational and economic psychology and analysis of foreign and domestic literature, the dissertation, first of all, determines the theoretical and methodological frameworks of study of professional growth of the specialists. The scientific novelty and theoretical value of the results obtained consist in identifying the influence of psychological factors at different stages of career: the importance of the individually typological factors at the initial stage, the level of anxiety and efficiency of copings – at the middle stage, and motivation factors and team environment – at the high; the technology for optimization of the IT companies’ corporate culture using the gaming technique was developed. The notion of professional and career growth in the modern labour market conditions; understanding the professional trajectories of the IT specialists; coaching and psychological support technologies for the IT specialists were improved. The further development in research of the way of living of a person at different stages of professional growth; diagnostics and overcoming of professional crises; study of links between the corporate culture and team environment in IT were obtained. The practical value of the study consists in developing the practical recommendations on career guidance, recruitment, and adaptation of IT specialists. The coaching, training and psychological support programs for IT employees were developed and implemented. These developments can be used both in the work with the IT company personnel and in the psychological support service of the universities that train the future IT specialists. The basic study results were implemented in the activity of the IT companies, teaching of such educational courses as “Engineering Psychology”, “Work Psychology” at the Staff Training Institute of the State Employment Service of Ukraine and in the activity of the psychological support service of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
