Essay

The dissertation presents a theoretical substantiation and experimentally defined the role and place of emotional intelligence in the system of personal resources of unemployed in socionomic field of professional retraining. In the work was also proposed a program to increase personal resources of the unemployed by developing their emotional intelligence. The scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the study is that for the first time: - developed structural and functional model of unemployed’s personal potential in the socionomic field of professional retraining, which includes a system of personal, social, psychological and professional-competency resources; - the role and place of emotional intelligence in the system of the unemployed personal resources in the socionomic field of professional retraining were analyzed; a model of emotional intelligence has been developed, which includes the levels of emotional intelligence’s functioning, functional characteristics, content characteristics and emotional competencies of intrapersonal and interpersonal orientation; - the factor model of unemployed emotional intelligence in the socionomic field of professional retraining was built, where the first position was taken by a factor with a set of interpersonal characteristics of emotional intelligence, and the second – a factor which included characteristics of intrapersonal emotional intelligence; - the nature of the relationship between emotional intelligence and indicators of unemployed personal resources is clarified; - the model of personal resources of the unemployed in the socionomic field of professional retraining was built, where the factor of emotional intelligence was compared with its other most significant elements; - the factors influencing probability of successful employment were established, among which the factor of emotional intelligence takes the leading place; - it was found that the factors «Success and work» and «Interest in work» are significantly positively related to emotional intelligence; - substantiated, developed and approbate the program to increase the personal resources of the unemployed by developing their emotional intelligence. The essence of the concepts «emotional intelligence», «personal resources of the unemployed», «system of the unemployed personal resources», «personal potential of the unemployed» and «resourcefulness» is specified, deepened and expanded. Scientific ideas about the role and place of emotional intelligence in the system of personal resources of the unemployed have been supplemented. Provisions on the peculiarities of increasing the personal resources of the unemployed by developing their emotional intelligence have been further developed . The practical significance of the study is that: materials of dissertation research, obtained empirical results, as well as a program to increase the personal resources of the unemployed by developing their emotional intelligence can be used in psychological practice by public employment service specialists to deepen the content of their professional diagnostic and counseling work with unemployed, in the practice of professional selection and vocational guidance, as well as in training programs during vocational retraining of the unemployed.
