The dissertation is devoted to the identification, theoretical substantiation and experimental verification of pedagogical conditions for preparation of future primary school teachers for the development of media competence in students; development of a structural and functional model for the implementation of pedagogical conditions for preparing future primary school teachers for the formation of media competence in students, covering three blocks: methodological-target, content-activity and evaluative-productive; clarification of the essence and structure of media competence of future primary school teachers; criteria, indicators and levels of its formation; improving the content, educational and methodological support and methods of professional training of future primary school teachers in Higher Education Institutions. Updating the content of professional disciplines; development and implementation into the educational process of pedagogical higher educational institutions of the author's curriculum for the elective discipline "Theoretical and methodical framework of preparing future primary school teachers for the formation of media educational skills in students". Development and implementation of the reference edition "Dictionary-reference book on media educational activity" as a means of deepening lexical content in order to freely operate with the categories necessary for professional activity; development and implementation of methods for diagnosing the levels of media competence formation of future primary school teachers.
