Markova E. Socio-economic development of small towns in the region in terms of decentralization

The dissertation is devoted to the complex scientific and applied solution of problems concerning social and economic development of small urban settlements of the Transcarpathian area in the conditions of decentralization. The relevance of scientific research is confirmed by the fact that all cities and towns of the Transcarpathian region in the conditions of decentralization become the centers of united territorial communities. This radically changes the functions, goals and tools of development of small urban settlements as the nuclei of the agglomeration, around which the adjacent rural settlements are united and determines the objective need for transition from sectoral to territorial multifunctional development. The symbiosis of urban and rural settlements united into a territorial community imposes a certain specificity on structural processes, sectoral structure of the economy, which should flexibly combine the development of industrial and innovative economic activities with the development of agro-industrial production.
