Essay

The dissertation solves the urgent problem of modern orthodontics - treatment of occlusal pathologies by using orthodontic appliances with Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets, which provides predictable local movement of teeth without overloading periodontal structures, and reduces the normalization of teeth and reduce the financial burden on the patient. This approach is an alternative and has a number of advantages over traditional techniques of treatment with brackets. So the design of the medical device can be presented by a removable kappa with the magnets established in it and the magnets fixed on separately located teeth. Given the simplicity of construction and the possibility of removing the device during brushing, maintaining a high level of oral hygiene is not difficult. The appearance on the market of the magnetic alloy Nd-Fe-B has significantly reduced the size of the magnets, and compare them in size with the locks of the bracket system. Using devices with magnets to correct the position of individual teeth, you can achieve correction of the bite in a short time without changing the position of the abutment teeth. However, for the widespread use of orthodontic appliances with magnets, a number of problems need to be addressed. Therefore, further research on the analysis of the forces of interaction of magnets, their corrosion protection and clinical application are relevant. The aim of this study is a clinical and experimental solution to the problem of treatment of occlusal pathologies in the vertical plane by using orthodontic appliances with Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets. Objectives of the study: 1. To study in the experiment the force of interaction of magnets depending on their size and the distance between the magnets in the attractive or repulsive configuration. 2. Develop a mathematical model for the theoretical calculation of the force of interaction of permanent magnets and conduct a comparative analysis with experimental data. 3. To evaluate the efficiency of passivation of the permanent magnets surface using oxide and nitride coatings. 4. In an experiment on animals to analyze the toxic effects of Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets. 5. To study the histological picture of the interaction of living tissue and magnet material in the initial state and after application of a protective coating. 6. To develop a method of occlusion correction using an orthodontic appliance which includes permanent magnets and to evaluate its effectiveness in the treatment of patients with dental pathology in the vertical plane.
