Essay

Purpose: to substantiate theoretical and methodological foundations for the environmental management of forest industry complex in Ukraine as well as to develop practical recommendations on ensuring its efficiency. Object: process of the environmental management and trends in the development of forest industry complex in Ukraine. Methods of research: abstract-logical, benchmarking, analysis and synthesis, expert evaluation method, statistical and economic. Theoretical results: the basis for further development of theoretical and methodological foundations as well as practical recommendations for ensuring effective environmental management of forest industry complex in Ukraine has been created. Practical results: specific methodological and practical recommendations on ensuring effective environmental management of forest industry complex in Ukraine have been developed. Scientific novelty: a conceptual approach to assessing the effectiveness of environmental management of the forest industry complex has been proposed. It is based on the determination of partial indicators of different activities with further comparison of their calculated value with the proposed parameters with mandatory calculation of consolidated indicators of the forest industry complex. This approach can be used as a diagnostic tool that accompanies the process of adjusting managerial decisions. The degree of implementation: Zhytomyr Regional State Administration; Slav Forest LLC, Koriukiv City Council of Chernihiv oblast, Polissia University. Efficiency: the results of the research contribute to ensuring effective environmental management of forest industry complex in Ukraine. Sphere of use: enterprises of forest industry complex, amalgamated communities, State Administration of Environmental Conservation, scientific institutions of National Academy of Science of Ukraine, higher educational establishments specializing in economics.
