Essay

The object of study is the vocabulary related to the tax field, in particular the names of taxes and fees, subjects and objects of the taxation process, witnessed in the monuments and historical dictionaries of the Proto-Slavic language period, the old Russian-Ukrainian language (XI-XIII cent.), the Middle Ukrainian language of the early (XIV-XV cent.) and the late period (XVI-XVII cent.), the new Ukrainian language (from the end of the XVIII cent.), the Ukrainian language of the XX – the early XXI cent. (of the Soviet period of 1917-1991, of the Modern Ukrainian language of Ukraine). The subject of the study is the genesis, lexical, derivational and semantic processes that determined the historical development of these names in the history of the Ukrainian language. The purpose of the study is to carry out a detailed lexical and semantic, word-formative analysis of the names of the tax field in the history of the Ukrainian language in the context of social and economic processes and the unstable situation during the creation of the state. Research results: In the dissertation, for the first time, a comprehensive study of tax names in the history of the Ukrainian language from the Slavic language period to the modern Ukrainian language was carried out; thematic groups of tax sphere names were identified at each stage of development of the Ukrainian language and their semantics studied in chronological order; semantic and structural organization of the lexical-semantic group has been clarified. The scope of use: the study results can be used in teaching courses "History of the Ukrainian language", "Modern Ukrainian literary language" (section "Lexicology"), "Comparative and historical grammar of the Slavic languages". The collected and generalized material can be used in compiling of historical and etymological dictionaries.
