Essay

The thesis is devoted to the solution of the problem of gender culture formation of the students at agrarian higher education institutions. The aim of the work is to determine, theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of organizational and pedagogical conditions for the gender culture formation of the students at agrarian higher education institutions. Relevance of research topic. Ukraine's integration into the world and European socio-cultural space presupposes the achieving of gender equality as a condition for sustainable development of economic, social and cultural spheres of society. The important task is the personal gender culture formation, which covers all areas of social relations. The modern system of higher education is aimed at educating a new generation of professionals who will be able to combine professionalism with humanistic values, general and gender culture, on which the solution of interpersonal interaction, an effective trajectory building of personal and career growth and economic stability achieving in the society are dependent. In the first chapter of the thesis – "Theoretical foundations of the students gender culture formation" – it is determined that the state gender policy in Ukraine is carried out by legal regulations of supranational and national levels; the basis for implementation of the ideas of gender equality, gender culture in public relations and in the system of higher education of Ukraine are ratified international and domestic legislation and regulations. It is defined, that in the scientific space, the realm of gender issues actualizes the mechanisms of gender approach implementation: collection and analysis of information on gender issues; conducting gender analysis; implementation of gender parity in public administration; organization of gender education. The need to spread the policy of "gender mainstreaming", which provides the integration of the aspect of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in various spheres of public life, and in the education system, in particular, is supported. A comprehensive analysis of scientific researches in the context of the gender approach actualization in education was conducted and the content of basic concepts related to gender, e.g. culture, gender culture, gender culture formation, gender education, extracurricular work, was specified. The peculiarities of the gender approach in education, which is based on pedagogical knowledge and is a base for the gender culture formation of students through expanding the individual socialization in professional, public and family life; implementation of direct or indirect professional pedagogical influence on the development and formation of personality; creating a gender-sensitive environment; providing egalitarian guidelines, orientations, patterns, models of behavior; equal interpersonal relationships building; harmonization of interaction on the basis of egalitarianism; promoting self-determination about the role and place of the individual in social production, professional career and life, were analysed. The second chapter of the thesis – "Organizational and pedagogical conditions for the gender culture formation of students at agrarian higher education institutions " – analyzes the specifics of the gender culture formation of students at agrarian higher education institutions, defines organizational and pedagogical conditions, components, criteria and indicators of gender culture formation of students at agrarian higher education institutions. It is specified that the main ways to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in gender issues at a higher education institution is to include a gender component into the content of the educational process and extracurricular activities. The professional pedagogical influence involves the understanding of purpose, objectives, principles of gender culture formation, taking into account features of student’s personality development and psychological features of youth gender behavior, namely: the gender identity formation, finding yourself in the implementation of social roles, choice of behaviors related to susceptibility to social problems, gender in particular, the development of responsibility in relationships, expression of emotional and value attitude to masculinity and femininity, demonstration of readiness for marital relations, formal support of gender equality and real reproduction of traditional behavior patterns, attempts to meet stereotypes and at the same time reveal individuality, differences in life values of boys and girls, insufficient level of gender sensitivity, demonstration of gender segregation in choosing a profession, etc.
