Ishchenko O. The Prose by Myroslav Dochynets: Problems and Poetics

In the thesis, for the first time, the problems and poetics of M. Dochynets’ prose, which had not yet been the object of a special scientific research, were comprehensively studied. The degree of investigation of the writer’s works in modern literary-critical discourse was specified. The origins of the author’s artistic and aesthetic thinking were traced. The factors that influenced the formation of his creative image and individual style were determined. The poetics of M. Dochynets’ prose was systematically analyzed, its problematics was revealed, the original conception of the character, genre paradigm, artistic psychologism, and means of its realization, specificity of chronotopic continuum, narrative strategies, humanistic pathos, and intertextuality as peculiarities of the writer’s idiostyle were studied. The paper argues that the writer’s prose is a conspicuous phenomenon in the modern Ukrainian literary process, representing an original creative style, that occupies an important place in the domestic and world cultural context. The scientific strategy proposed in the thesis emphasizes the originality of M. Dochynets’ works, opening prospects for further research.
