Essay

On the basis of the scientific researches and practical experience analysis it has been stated that technological education of schoolchildren is supposed to provide their thorough mastering of knowledge concerning the main laws of creative activity (designing, technical-technological, project-designing), i.e. design activity. Taking into account the advanced domestic and foreign experience, Ukraine has set the following tasks for modern technological education of schoolchildren: individual personality development, disclosure of its creative potential through the implementation of personality-oriented learning paradigm; development of the students’ critical thinking as a means of self-development; mastering the skills of practical use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for general and special purpose; formation of a system of competencies on human transformational activity; expansion and systematization of knowledge concerning technology and design as the main means of human transformation; upbringing of a conscious and active life position, readiness for cooperative group work, etc. (Laws of Ukraine «On General Secondary Education», «On Higher Education», «On Education»). The technology teacher is called upon to solve such tasks.
