Bobyr O. Formation of artistic and aesthetic mindset of would-be artists in the process of professional training

The thesis investigates the problem of formation of artistic and aesthetic mindset (AAM) of would-be artists in the process of professional training and offers a new approach to its solution, which is to introduce pedagogical conditions for effective formation of artistic and aesthetic worldview in the educational process of classical higher education institutions. The research paper presents the results of the analysis of research on the outlined issues in philosophical, psychological, pedagogical and art literature, which revealed the theoretical foundations of the artistic and aesthetic mindset of student artists, based on eight information blocks: documentary and historical works on etymology, semantics and definitions of terms “mindset” and “artistic and aesthetic mindset”; views of scholars on the phenomena of “mindset” and “artistic and aesthetic mindset” in the humanities; modern scientific achievements and results of theses on the formation of artistic and aesthetic worldview; historical works on the formation of the artist's profession, where the requirements for such specialists are given; the research of philosophers, art critics, teachers and psychologists into the peculiarities of AAM of artists; history of professional training of artists on the formation of mindset; scholars’ views on the peculiarities of the mindset formation in student age and modern national professional training of would-be artists. The concept of “professional mindset” is clarified, which is defined as an orderly system of views in a particular field of professional activity, formed by diverse methods and tools and implemented in professional activity. The thesis defines “artistic and aesthetic mindset of would-be artists” as a set of ideas of the artist about the surrounding reality, reflecting the artistic and aesthetic values of the artist's personality, formed on the basis of knowledge, skills, motivated by desire to change the world; the ideas, realised in the art products and influence the mindset of the viewer.
