The dissertation provides a comprehensive theoretical review of the problem of fraud in the works of domestic and foreign scientists, which showed that the phenomenon of fraud is the object of study of related fields of knowledge: psychology, criminology, law, policing, sociology. In the field of juridical psychology, the most commonly used is the definition of fraud as a negative social phenomenon that attracts people prone to deception and lies or as a steadfast, conscious and internally organized way of life, which is within the immoral-criminal level.
