The dissertation work is devoted to the study of the psychological and legal foundations for improving the professional activities of mounted patrol police officers.
On the basis of a theoretical analysis of literary sources, the main psychological reasons for the activity of mounted patrol police officers are described. In the course of the empirical study, professionally significant personality traits of employees of the police cavalry unit were identified, a professiogram and psychogram of the police cavalry unit were formed, and relevant topics for the psychological training of a police cavalryman were identified and described, taking into account the specifics of the activities performed.
The empirical study involved 100 employees of the equestrian unit of the National Police of Ukraine in Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro regions.
The study of the professionally significant properties of policemen of the mounted police unit made it possible to develop a generalized psychogram of a mounted patrol police officer, in which the main structural blocks are identified and characterized, namely: individual psychological characteristics and their parameters, a list of appropriate psychodiagnostic tools and indicators of professions is formed.
Empirically, a number of contraindications to mastering the professional activities of a police cavalryman were determined, among which the leading ones are increased anxiety, aggressiveness, sensitivity, a low level of lability of the nervous system, the development of a certain character accentuation, fear of failure and lack of communication, negative characterological. emotional instability, conformity, vulnerability, lack of empathy, cognitive and affective rigidity.
The author's professiogram of an employee of an equestrian police unit has been developed, consisting of eight points: the content of work; requirements for general education and special training; necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; general requirements for mental cognitive processes; a set of professionally important opportunities; professionally important qualities; sanitary and hygienic conditions of activity and labor safety; medical contraindications.
