Essay

A comprehensive historical and pedagogical analysis of the training of future teachers for education for tolerance in students of French colleges in a particular historical period has been carried out; the of training of future teachers for education for tolerance in students of French colleges in 1968–2015 have been scientifically substantiated: Stage I (1968–1989) – the stage of raising the issue of teachers’ training for education for tolerance in French college students; Stage II (1990–2015) – the stage of determining the content of teachers’ training for education for tolerance in students of French colleges (1990–2015); the contribution of French scientists of the period under study (J. Baubérot, J. George, J. Lévine, G. Lheureux, F. Audigier, P. Augier) in the development of purpose, objectives, content (general pedagogical and practical training), forms, methods, directions (moral, civic education, intercultural education, multiculturalism), ways of activity and conditions of teacher training for education for tolerance in college students in France, justification of the country’s democratic values, definition of personal qualities of the teacher required for the successful realization of the specified issues have been determined; the perspectives of creative use of pedagogically valuable ideas and experience of France in establishments of general secondary education and the system of higher pedagogical education of Ukraine (use of the heraldic method, the method of "stories from professional life", the method of "philosophical studios"; biographical, autobiographical and "archaeological" approaches; organization of research work by autobiographical method and some others) have been outlined.
