Essay

The thesis has dealt with the theoretical analysis of sources and publications, which highlight the problems of military specialists training in Ukraine in 1920-1940. These publications have been classified according to two main criteria: chronological – sources of the period under study, sources of the postwar period, post-soviet sources; formal functional – archival funds, scientific monographs of different years of publications, dictionaries and reference literature, scientific articles and publications, theses of the Ukrainian and foreign scientists. The periodization has been scientifically substantiated and the main tendencies of military specialists training formation process in Ukraine in 1920-1940 have been revealed. Distinct periods and their essential characteristics were defined that made it possible to analyze systematically the development of the phenomenon under influence of socio-political, economic factors and reforms in the Red Army. The priority task of education in the interwar period has been highlighted, the introduction of new forms and methods, which resulted in the introduction of the laboratory method in the process of military specialists training, the development of independent cadets’ work, the formation of critical thinking skills. It has been determined the possibilities of historical military-pedagogical experience of military specialists training in Ukraine introduction into the theory and practice of the modern military educational system development of Ukraine.
