Essay

The dissertation is a comprehensive study that provides insights and generalization on the theoretical provisions along with suggesting a conceptual framework to enhance enterprise business process management, as well as develops an effective mechanism for managing modern enterprise business process development in rural areas. The study provides a theoretical framework to interpret a concept and discuss the characteristics of enterprise business processes which contributes to better understanding of the nature of business processes of rural enterprises. A thorough review of a vast range of modern methods to assess the effectiveness of business process management in rural enterprises offered an opportunity to identify approaches to their evaluation, in particular the most promising among them are: the simulation technique; process-based approach to evaluate business process cost, and the key performance indicators assessment. The study offers a comprehensive overview of theoretical and methodological frameworks to managing the development of business processes in rural enterprises. In the context of enhancing the mechanisms and impetus in managing business processes in rural enterprises, the findings provide strong argument. The in-depth analysis of national and international best practice on business process management in rural areas has carried out. The study has monitored of strategic management of business process development in rural enterprise. From a business process management perspective, the thesis specifies the key development indicators for rural enterprises which lay the background for further development of theoretical and methodological approaches to business process management modeling. In particular, the major barriers and divers of rural enterprise development in terms of better business process management were identified, along with suggesting the specific approaches, methods and modeling tools to facilitate their effective selection and application. The study presents a conceptual framework to enhance the management mechanism for enterprise business process development in rural areas. Based on the research findings, an improved concept of scientific provisions on the design of mechanisms and strategic guidelines for the development of rural enterprises in the context of business process management intensification is suggested. The study develops a comprehensive pioneer approach to managing enterprise business process diversification in rural areas which provides an opportunity to frame and substantiate conceptual provisions to design a management model for rural enterprise business process development followed by an author’s original multi-criteria optimization hierarchical cognitive model of diversified rural economy that reflects a consistent sequence in the cause and effect pattern "objectives – functions – structure – operation – outcome" to verify a rational choice in defining territories with single-sector or polyfunctional configuration of rural economy. The thesis provides strategic guidelines on the development of rural enterprises in the context of enhancing their business process management.
