The theoretical basis of competitiveness as a management category and a factor of economic growth is generalized; the role of sectoral competitiveness management in the socio-ecological-economic triad is analyzed. According to the results of theoretical generalizations, methods of managing industry competitiveness on the basis of sustainable development have been implemented. The analysis of features of competitiveness management on the basis of existing practices of interstate rating comparisons is carried out. For results calculation procedures specify the factors influencing the management of sectoral and regional competitiveness. The identification of the competitiveness management system on the basis of sustainable development is carried out. Prospects for competitive development of strategic economic zones on the basis of sustainable development are determined; the model of the branch index of competitiveness on an ecological and economic component is actualized; profiling of management of branch competitiveness in the context of social and economic development is carried out.
