Essay

The object is a modern society. The objective is a comprehensive analysis of the interaction between the army and the transforming society in the political and institutional dimension. The methods - institutional, comparative, statistical. Theoretical and practical results - the formation of theoretical and empirical basis for the creation of a state doctrine of humanitarian security and cultural security policy. Novelty - for the first time the author's variant of the methodology of research of interaction of army and society is offered; working models of political practices have been formed, which reproduce the main directions and specifics of the interaction between the army and society under the conditions of transformation of the latter into a society of risk; the arguments concerning the expediency of studying the structure and functions of the armed forces of modern society are clarified; statements on the process of organizing and exercising democratic control over the activities of the Armed Forces of the state; provisions on the substantive ambivalence of the activities of modern armies in a society of risk; arguments for understanding the transition to a contractual form of service in the Armed Forces and statements regarding the consideration of formations of the territorial defense system were further developed.. The rate of implementation - development of specific recommendations for the analysis of the interaction of the army and society in the conditions of transformation processes. The scope of application - power structures; state security and defense structures; political parties; NGOs; analytical and educational activities.
