The dissertation is devoted to the study of the Ukrainian ex - libris of the late 1980s - 2010s, its traditions, temporal transformations and the latest achievements in the system of studying the history of modern book graphics and graphic art. Historical sources, art history, bibliophilic literature, catalogs of all-Ukrainian and foreign exhibitions in which Ukrainian artists took part are analyzed, the state of studying the domestic ex-libris of the independent Ukraine since the late 1980s - 2010s is comprehensively described. In addition, the evolution of the Ukrainian ex-libris of the 1980s and 2010s in the context of the formation of forms of the world book mark is analyzed, as already mentioned above. The transformation of artistic, technical and genre tendencies of formation of the Ukrainian ex-libris at the turn of the XX and XXI centuries is covered. The variety of graphic techniques of Ukrainian ex-libris of the 1980s-2010s is characterized, and their expressive features are determined. On the basis of scientific research methods, including historical and art criticism, the significant influence of the 60s of the XX century on the further development of graphics at the present stage is revealed. Thanks to the comparative method, it is possible to obtain generalized results of comparative-historical analysis of the Ukrainian and European bookplates, their temporal variations and genre differences. On the basis of the socio-cultural method, assistance was provided in outlining the stages of development of the art of the book mark in society, its popularization and positions along with other types of book graphics. Traditional motives in the manifestations of the national spirit of the Ukrainian bookplate against the background of European art are revealed. In addition to the importance of the thematic orientation of the bookplate, its stylistic features are also characterized, which directly influenced the evolution of graphic concepts of domestic graphics. The symbolic and semantic principles of creating a book miniature are revealed, which also speaks of decorative, constructive and formative means in the process of creating graphic signs. The content of the dissertation research, the peculiarities in the formulation of questions for each section and subdivision are determined, the forms for accessible presentation of the material are revealed.
