Malysheva M. Training Hospitality and Tourism Specialists in Turkish Vocational Schools.

The thesis specifies the goals, content, organizational forms, methods, technologies, and characteristics of vocational training for specialists in hospitality and tourism in Turkish vocational schools. The relevance of the research problem results from its insufficient coverage in pedagogical theory and practice. There appears to be the need to study the Turkish experience of training specialists in hospitality and tourism in vocational schools and use its positive aspects to improve such training in Ukraine. Furthermore, current trends in tourism education in Turkey are little studied by Ukrainian pedagogical theorists and practicians.The thesis determines several characteristics of the content and structure of training programmes on hospitality and tourism in Turkish vocational lyceums. They are as follows: the compliance of programmes and qualifications of graduates with the needs of the hospitality and tourism services market; professional orientations of tourism education; the integration of computer-based and technical courses into curricula; the focus on practical training; the introduction of foreign language courses; constant updates in scientific and methodical bases; involvement of relevant specialists in the training process; activities of schools aimed at improving the quality of educational services.
