The thesis paper considers the development of theoretical and methodological foundations and the objectives of practical recommendations for improving the enterprise management system in the digital economy exemplified by utility companies. The thesis paper studies the theoretical and methodological foundations for improving the enterprise management system in the digital economy. The terms and components of the enterprise management system are characterized to study the influence of the digital economy on each of its subsystems. Enterprise management in the digital economy has been studied from the point of view of a systems approach. The essential manifestation of the main features of attributing the enterprise management system in the digital economy to complex systems has been determined. The manifestation of the aspect characteristics of the control system in the digital economy through the consideration of concepts such as substance, structure, functioning, development was highlighted. The role and importance of digitalization in the activities of a person and organization in modern conditions have been justified. It is emphasized that digital technologies change the existing principles, models, concepts of enterprise management and their implementation is a prerequisite for improving the enterprise management system, requires an in-depth study of experience and the development of measures for the implementation of digital transformation technologies. A comparative characteristic of the concepts of digitization, digitalization, and digital transformation has been carried out. The essence, types, stages and, the need for digital transformation have been justified, taking into account the possibility of solving existing problems in the activities of enterprises and their increasing competitiveness. Tendencies in the development of the energy industry in Ukraine and the world have been identified to assess the impact of the digital economy on the activities of energy enterprises, and the following basic characteristics have been highlighted as an increase in demand for electricity, an increase in technical requirements and environmental standards for the operation of energy enterprises, an acceleration in the rate of production of electricity from renewable energy sources. Based on this, the author’s model for assessing the digital maturity of an enterprise has been developed, which provides for assessing the level of maturity in such areas of the enterprise’s activities. Based on the analysis of the management system of energy enterprises in the context of digital transformation, the prospects for the development of the energy industry in the digital economy are characterized and examples of the use of digital technologies in the energy sector. The monitoring of the current state and dynamics of performance indicators of domestic energy enterprises was carried out in the context of digitalization of their activities, the peculiarities of the functioning of Prykarpattyaoblenergo Ltd, Lvivoblenergo Private Joint-Stock Company, Kyiv Regional Electric Networks Private Joint-Stock Company were analyzed to obtain an analytical basis for assessing the digital maturity of the studied enterprises. Based on the application of the model for assessing the digital maturity of the enterprise using the provisions of the fuzzy-set theory and interval scales, the level of digital maturity of Prykarpattyaoblenergo Ltd, Lvivoblenergo Private Joint- Stock Company, Kyiv Regional Electric Networks Private Joint-Stock Company was measured, which made it possible to determine the integral level of digital maturity and the maturity of its components. The concept of improving the enterprise management system in the context of the development of the digital economy, based on objective regulatory and legislative, and subjective, potentially predictable directions and paths of digital changes. Based on the certain conceptual foundations of digital transformation, a model for improving the management system at energy enterprises in the digital economy is proposed. As a result, a road map was built, which gives a graphical plan-scenario for the development of the enterprise, taking into account alternative ways and possibilities of digital transformation, and creates a well-functioning system of interaction between the organizational structures of the enterprise and the external environment. It was summarized that the digital transformation of an enterprise allows you to get additional opportunities and increase activity results, and it should not be carried out in fragments, but take into account a systematic approach, be organically integrated into the enterprise management system, and stimulate its continuous improvement.
