The dissertation research presents the solution of the current scientific problem of theoretical foundation and experimental verification of pedagogical conditions of purposeful formation of professional competence of future tractor-drivers of agricultural production in professional training. In the context of dynamic reform of the agricultural ector of the country's economy, the demand for workers has grown sharply, who are able to competently, efficiently and responsibly perform complex production tasks, ready for continuous professional growth, social and professional mobility. Certain circumstances determine changes in the training of agricultural specialists. The reorientation to active practical actions of the individual, providing success in the socio-economic restructuring of society, has caused an increase in requirements for the quality of training of skilled workers. It requires from specialists purposeful and energetic efforts and abilities to overcome the stereotypes, to improve their professional competence, and personal qualities.
