Shestakova O. Structural, semantic and functional peculiarities of modern Korean linguistic terminology.

For the first time in Ukrainian Korean studies, main methodological concepts and theoretical works that are being used in modern Korean linguistics were described. These concepts and works can be divided into three groups: traditional linguistics, descriptive linguistics and transformational-generative grammar. The theoretical basis of Korean linguistics includes works of the following Korean linguists: Ju Si-gyeong, Choe Hyeon-bae, Go Yeong-geun, Nam Gi-sim, Yu Hyeon-gyeong. Main stages of Korean lexicography development, which was a preliminary step of terminology studies development, were described. Intra- and extralinguistic factors of terminology formation were determined. For the first time in Ukrainian Korean studies, the influence of international scientific works related to terminology studies on the formation of Korean terminology studies is analyzed. The main theoretical concepts used in modern Korean terminology studies, linguistic terminology standardization problems, and key controversial issues of modern Korean linguistics are described.
