The object of the study is lexicographical articles related to the concept of the Arab world, including the names of clothing, dishes of Arabic cuisine and religious Arabic discourse, as well as text fragments with these concepts.
In the dissertation we aim to identify and describe the language and speech means of verbal representation of the concept of the Arab world for a correct understanding of their meanings and dispelling existing stereotypes.
Research methods such as induction, deduction, generalization, analysis and synthesis are used in the paper. Linguistic methods include definitive, thesaurus, contextual, contrastive, comparative, component, distributive and descriptive.
Theoretical value of the dissertation is due to its focus on solving contemporary problems of semantics and cognitive linguistics. The results of the study deepen the knowledge of the concepts associated with the concept of the Arab world. The peculiarities of verbalization of this concept in dictionaries and in the National Corpora of the Russian language are determined in the paper.
The practical relevance of the obtained results of the dissertation is that its conclusions and generalizations are a contribution to cognitive linguistics. The obtained results can be applied in theoretical courses on linguoculturology of the Russian language, cognitive linguistics. Some results may be useful in the development of teaching materials on cognitive linguistics for Russian students, as well as for writing term and qualifying papers. The factual material recorded and analyzed in the dissertation can be used for the preparation of textbooks and textbooks on cognitive linguistics, in lexicographic practice. At the same time, research can be useful for historians, culturologists, ethnographers and local historians.
The scientific novelty of the dissertation research is that for the first time the paper comprehensively researched and described the means of verbal representation of the concept of the Arab world, which covers such areas as geography, history, culture, art, life, language, religion.
Directions for future research. The prospect of further research is to expand the analysis of geographical and everyday aspects of verbalization of the Arab world in the Russian language and comparison with the perception of the Arab world by native speakers of the Ukrainian language.
