In the dissertation for the first time the problems of disadaptation of veterans of anti-terrorist operation (ATO) and its social and psychological correction are comprehensively investigated. The theoretical paradigm and model of disadaptation of veterans of anti-terrorist operation, which is seen on the behavioral, emotional, communicative and motivational-volitional levels, are scientifically substantiated; external and internal factors of disadaptation of anti-terrorist operation veterans are revealed. The model of social and psychological correction of disadaptation of veterans of antiterrorist operation is offered and theoretically substantiated. The idea of the essence of disadaptation of anti-terrorist operation veterans is specified; the psychological characteristics of anti-terrorist operation veterans were supplemented depending on the level of severity of adaptive and maladaptive symptoms; the information on the dynamics of the experiences of anti-terrorist operation veterans under the influence of psycho-correctional work is provided. Further development of theoretical provisions on socio-psychological disadaptation of the individual during a crisis took place. According to the results of scientific and psychological analysis of the provisions of psychophysiological, activity, cognitive, psychoanalytic, humanistic and other scientific approaches, a structural and functional model of disadaptation of veterans of the ATO was designed. The basic construct in the author's model was the personality of the participants of the anti-terrorist operation, and a personal quality – disadaptation, which is formed in the process and as a result of socio-psychological disadaptation of the individual, during the interaction of internal and external factors.
