Essay

The paper clarifies the scientific interpretation and content of the features of ensuring equal rights and freedoms of women and men in Ukraine. It has been established that the absence of any discrimination is one of the fundamental principles of a democratic society. Thus, the enshrinement of the relevant provisions in the Constitution was a logical continuation of the policy of building social relations with a new vector of development. It was important to introduce rules of conduct from the beginning of the declaration of independence to establish a starting point for the transformation of social relations. It is established that legal equality is the equality of social status of people, rights and responsibilities of citizens established by law and the same degree of responsibility of persons, which excludes any advantages or privileges of individuals. There is a lack of a single definition of gender, which would be universal. This is due to the complexity of the phenomenon itself, which has absorbed a fairly large set of characteristics, which complicates the clear formulation of its definition. It is concluded that gender is a set of norms that form a model of social relations and provide for the determination of the vector of behavior of a person depending on its biological characteristics. It is gender, as a biological feature of a person, is a criterion for applying to it certain social norms with the definition of its socio-role status.
