Sivachenko I. Prosodic peculiarities in sports commentators' speech (instrumental phonetic study).

The dissertation analyzes prosodic peculiarities of commentators' speech of sports programs, in particular football matches and horse races. The academic relevance of the project lies in the first Ukrainian phonetic study of the peculiarities of sports commentators'speech behavior during sports events. It is the first time the Ukrainian research project selects for analysis football matches and horse races, studies common and differential frequency, temporal and dynamic characteristics of two sports events commentaries and proves the role of prosody in sports commentators' speech portraits creation. The practical significance of the project is the possibility of using the obtained results in teaching courses of the English practical and theoretical phonetics, in researching sociolinguistic speech variation. The results of the study contribute to general phonetics, phonology, phonostylistics (sections "Phonostyles of modern English", "Intonation of spontaneous speech"), to the theory of communication, which can be useful both for teaching the above-mentioned subjects and for creating qualifying projects by masters and postgraduates in philology
