Object: the process of increasing the level of energy efficiency on the basis of innovative development of machine-building enterprises. Purpose: substantiation of theoretical bases, methodical approaches and practical recommendations on energy efficiency on the basis of innovative development of machine-building enterprises of Zaporizhzhia region. Research methods: system analysis and synthesis, systematization and comparison methods, statistical data processing method, grouping method, expert evaluations, comparison method, coefficient method, generalization, induction and deduction method, economic-mathematical modeling and forecasting methods, logical generalization, graphical method . Proposed: for the first time: it is proposed an organizational mechanism of energy saving at machine-building enterprises on the basis of innovative development which includes designing of energy saving system, identifying the risks in project implementation, monitoring energy efficiency, forming a short-term strategy for energy saving at the enterprise on the basis of innovation; improved: a methodological approach to assessing the level of energy efficiency of machine-building enterprises which takes into account indicators characterizing energy armament, innovation processes at the enterprise, investment activities and socio-environmental consequences and is based on the use of balanced, integrated approaches; system of energy efficiency monitoring of machine-building enterprises which is based on a comprehensive in-depth system analysis of the efficiency and state of energy use which allows to identify irrational sources of energy consumption, identify ways to eliminate them; consistency and content of stages of innovation development at machine-building enterprises which include assessment of innovation development indicators and their forecast assessment, which will allow in the future to more effectively form an innovative program of machine-building enterprise development and assess resource needs for its implementation; further developed: methodological approach to forecasting the level of energy efficiency of machine-building enterprises which is based on the principles of econometric analysis and allows to develop a set of models for forecasting energy efficiency by taking into account current trends and capabilities of the enterprise; essential content of the concepts "innovation", "innovation activity", "innovation development", "energy saving".
