The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of mural art in world and Ukrainian street art, through the prism of historical and cultural processes of formation of world art and monumental-decorative art; artistic trends and trends of the avant-garde of the first third of the twentieth century; American street art of the 1930s and 1980s; hip-hop culture and performances by population of different races for equal rights together with Native Americans; Mexican muralism; Ukrainian Boychukism; Soviet monumentalism in the USSR and European, Asian and African murals with their distinctive features. It is determined that most of the murals on the territory of Ukraine were created by foreign artists within the framework of international street art festivals. Accordingly, foreign, and Ukrainian artists, during such cooperation, enrich the figurative component of the domestic mural art with European experience. Artistic, visual, and technical features of murals have been clarified, performed by Ukrainian and foreign artists. For the first time on the basis of a comprehensive study, the classification of varieties of world murals was carried out, semantic and spatial organization of murals, artistic technologies of mural art performance by foreign and Ukrainian artists were determined, the specifics of formation and plastic modeling of murals of the world were analyzed, sources of inspireds and specifications of iconography of Ukrainian mural art were outlined, the typography of mural art was studied, and the typography of mural art was analyzed Ukrainian murals. Accordingly, three models of Ukrainian murals were identified in 2010–2020: national – with representation of works of ethnoculture; author's – with the illumination of the individual vision by the artist of the surrounding world; adaptive – with the appeal of artists to artistic traditions and artistic images of other countries of the world (murals are usually performed by foreigners or collaborations with Ukrainian artists within international festivals of street art).
