Zuіenko Y. Mythologism of L. Kononovych’s Historical Prose in the Ethnonational Dimension

It is for the first time when a systematic analysis of L. Kononovych’s historical prose through the positions of mythological criticism is carried out. It is also the first comprehensive study of the peculiarities of national mythology use in L. Kononovych’s historical prose. It for the first time analyzes the influence of specific national mythologism on the poetics of novels «Hell’s Stargazer», «Theme for Meditation», and «Chyhyryn Centurion». The theoretical significance of the thesis is determined by several factors. First, it substantiates an improved version of the analysis of mythologeme in fiction. Second, it for the first time combines mythological criticism and postcolonial studies in literary research. Third, it involves concepts and terms from the field of sociology and political science, which expands and deepens the literary analysis.
