Liesnichenko N. Gender peculiarities of bodily locus of control in youth

Object – the bodily locus of control as a mental phenomenon of the bodily Self of the individual in adolescence; goal – to determine the gender characteristics of the bodily locus of control in the structure of the bodily Self in adolescence; novelty –the concept of bodily locus of control has been conceptualized and operationalized for the first time; typological features of the bodily locus of control, reflecting the different ratio of internality parameters in the field of health and disease, beauty and appearance, eating behavior, sex and physical activity and sports, has been discovered for the first time; the peculiarities of the development of the bodily locus of control in women and men depending on the degree of their physical activity and involvement in sports, tobacco behavior, attitude to health and the specifics of future professional activity, has been discovered for the first time; ideas about the corporeality of men and women through the connection of the bodily locus of control with gender identity and gender-role symptom complex of the individual have been expanded; ideas about the psycho-emotional states of the individual in a pandemic COVID 19 depending on the characteristics of the bodily locus of control have been expanded; means of psychodiagnostics in the field of physicality of the individual and means of development of the bodily Self of adolescents have been received further development; results – a set of methods of psychodiagnostics of the bodily Self and a system of means of psychological support for the development of bodily internality have been developed and tested. The results can be used in schools and institutions of higher education in creating conditions for activating mechanisms and increasing the level of formation of internal components in people with external locus of control, as well as developing their willingness to adequately perceive their appearance, positive attitude to their health, physical activity. The results of the dissertation research have been introduced into the educational process of higher education institutions of Ukraine; area – psychology.
