Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the problem of forming the readiness of future Marines for mentoring. The research solves the scientific task of the pedagogical conditions substantiating for the training of future Marine officers for mentoring, development of a structural and functional model and experimental verification of their effectiveness. It has been fixed that the pedagogical conditions of formation of readiness of future Marine Corps officers for mentoring activity are specially created circumstances that lead successfully to the construction of the educational process taking into account the needs, interests, capabilities of future Marine Corps officers and ensure formation of positive attitude of this category of servicemen to mentoring activity (personal component). It determines their mastery of the conceptual apparatus and system of theoretical knowledge about mentoring activity (content component), the development of communicative and organizational, analytical and design skills (activity and reflexive-prognostic components). In cooperation with the experts, it has been established that the formation of future Marine officers’ readiness for mentoring will be more effective under the following pedagogical conditions: the introduction of a person-centered approach to the system of training future Marine Corps officers for mentoring; development, implementation and constant updating of the didactic and information environment of training future Marine officers for mentoring; introduction of innovative forms and methods of training future Marine officers into the educational process. The scientific novelty of the obtained results: for the first time the pedagogical conditions of formation of future Marine Corps officers’ readiness for mentoring have been substantiated (implementation of person-centered approach within the training system of future Marine Corps officers for mentoring; elaboration, implementation and constant renewing of didactic and informational environment of the training of future Marine Corps officers for mentoring; implementation to the educational process of the innovation forms and methods of the training of future Marine Corps officers); the structural and functional model of readiness formation of future Marine Corps officers for mentoring has been worked out which includes goal, periods, components, method approaches, pedagogical conditions, educational process, criteria, levels of readiness, result; diagnostic apparatus (criteria and indicators of the readiness levels) for determination of the state of future Marine Corps officers’ readiness for mentoring by characterizing the levels of formation of this readiness and scientific ideas about the models of training for mentoring has been improved; scientific ideas about the nature, structure and content of future Marine Corps officers’ readiness for mentoring have been further developed. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in their introduction into the system of professional training of Marine Corps officers for mentoring. A special course "Fundamentals of Mentoring in the Marines" as well as training and methodological support for it have been introduced. A structural and functional model of forming future Marine Corps officers’ readiness for mentoring has been introduced into the educational process of the Military Academy (Odessa). Certain thesis (principles) of the dissertation research can be used for the development of educational and normative documentation as well as educational and methodological complexes for training future officers in higher military educational institutions. The instructors have used the research materials in the educational process.
