Essay

The research proves that the study of the phenomenon of violin cover as an important component of modern music culture, which we tried to study in its dialogical relationship with academic violin art, is an extremely important and relevant area of modern musicology. This perspective of the cover phenomenon is determined, first of all, by the lack of elaboration of the latest aspects of performance in the process of transforming the genre and style system of musical art; and secondly, the need to identify relevant approaches to studying the style and form of violin cover as an important component of modern musical art in general, and violin performance in particular, as cover versions of famous musical compositions are a constant part of the repertoire of modern violinists. The presence of interdisciplinary links, on the basis of which we can identify and evaluate the phenomenon of cover culture, gives us a basis for studying the characteristics of this phenomenon, as well as provide an opportunity to explain most of the original, distinctive features of the phenomenon from the standpoint of objective being as a component of mass culture. The dialogical nature of the musical structure of the cover as a style and as a genre outlines the newest main ways of theoretical understanding of this phenomenon.
