Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of polyphonic music of Ukrainian composers of the second half of the 20th century, in particular, theoretical and performing principles of the interpretation of polyphonic cycles by V. Bibik, O. Yakovchuk, and M. Skoryk. That is why, the research is based on the study of art history, music history and culture studies and historical processes of the development of polyphonic music in Ukraine, the study of creativity and artistic outlook of these composers. The significance of the study is due to the necessity of the theoretical analysis and generalization of the main approaches of modern Ukrainian composers to the construction of a polyphonic cycle; identification of traditional features caused by an appeal to the baroque prototype, and innovative, national and individually stylish aspects in the implementation of the compositional and dramaturgical concept of the polyphonic cycle; substantiating of the artistic and figurative principles of the interpretation of polyphonic cycles through the prism of the composer's personality, his artistic outlook and individual style.
