Essay

In the dissertation it is done scientific substantiation, development and practical solution of the problem of formation of civic competence of lyceum students. Scientific methodological approaches (synergetic, systemic, activity, acmeological, competence, technological and others) are substantiated, the complex application of which ensures the realization of the set goals and objectives of the research. The conceptual and categorical apparatus of research has been clarified; the following concepts have been defined as content-forming: competence approach, competence, key competence, civic competence, national consciousness, national language consciousness, language stability, language patriotism, language personality, citizen. The essential characteristics of the basic concept of «civic competence» are specified. The structure of this competence includes the following main components: emotional and value, motivation of actions and deeds; knowledgeable, activity-behavioral. There are four levels of civic competence – high, sufficient, medium and elementary, defined evaluation criteria (emotional-value, cognitive, communicative-activity, reflective) and indicators to them. The dissertation defines the purpose of the experiment, stages (search, statement, formative, control-final), their sequence and methodological conditions of effectiveness. The following components of the formative stage are distinguished: organizational (substantiation of conditions and choice of participants of experimental training, provision of program, materials and recommendations), practical (introduction of author's methods, exercises and tasks), independent (organization of independent work of students aimed at civic competence), control and final (control tasks, analysis and generalization). It is established that after the introduction of the experimental method of forming the civic competence of lyceum students in the process of learning the Ukrainian language, there were positive changes in the levels of formation of civic competence of high school students. The results of experimental training confirmed the hypothesis and effectiveness of the author's method of forming civic competence of lyceum students in the process of learning the Ukrainian language.
