Essay

For the first time, in Ukrainian and foreign academic dimensions, this research studies and analyses the pantomime culture originality in Ukraine in the context of modern social and cultural processes; the evolution of pantomime forms development in Ukraine is examined; together with the analysis of creative conception, as well as dramaturgic principles and features of stage expression means, the specifics of Ukrainian pantomime theatres and their role in the social and cultural space of the early XXI cent. are outlined; the characteristic features of the phenomenon of Ukrainian pantomime theatre and the system of its existence regularities are determined; the role of Ukrainian pantomime theatres in the formation of social and cultural urban space in the beginning of the XXI cent. is revealed; a comprehensive analysis of pantomime theatres repertoire as an essential factor in new cultural intellection formation is made. The meaning of modern pantomime culture in Ukraine, and the development of pantomime as an independent art form in the context of political, historical, sociocultural and artistic processes are studied; peculiarities of European pantomime school are analysed, as well as its influence on modern Ukrainian pantomime school development is determined; E. Decru's poetry of physical expression, which is characteristic of modern pantomime theatre in Ukraine, is studied in the context of cultural code transformation. Scientific principles and conclusions of this thesis are supported by factual material, studied using analysis methods, in accordance with the formulated in the research aim and objectives. Ensuring the interdisciplinary nature of this scientific work, the research methodology is a set of culturological and art history approaches and methods. The specifics of the defined issues leads to the use of culturological approach in this study, aimed at merging different fields of humanitarian knowledge as the most promising. Problems of Ukrainian pantomime theatre origins and development are studied in terms of synergetic paradigm, which determines the need of using the synergetic method. The study of the mechanisms of cultural code signs fixing in pantomime theatre performances in Ukraine is based on R. Bart’s text analysis conception. Systemic, structural and functional, comparative and historical approaches form the research methodological basis, necessary for identifying pantomime theatre patterns of internal organisation, development and functioning in socio-cultural sphere.
