Medvedska V. Deliberative democracy as a model of interaction between the state and civil society.

Citizens’ belief in the consciously participation ability in state decision-making processes has grown considerably in recent decades. The modern inherent principles of reflection, discussion, consensus building and further adaptation in the context of the search for a new model of democracy turn these elements into specific «democratic innovations». The relevance of the dissertation is determined by the necessity of finding a «new» model of democracy that could overcome the crisis of representative democracy, caused by the transformation of social values in the direction of individualism, reduced satisfaction of citizens with political elites elected to represent their interests, lack of interaction between state and public institutions, low level of political communication, etc.
