Essay

The dissertation presents and statically examines the influence of objective and subjective determinants on the professional self-esteem of a journalist. The object of research is the personality’s professional self-esteem. The subject of the research is the psychological determinants of a journalist’s professional self-esteem. The main purpose of the work is to theoretically and empirically determine psychological determinants of journalists' professional self-esteem. As the result the next determinate factors of journalists' professional self-esteem were researched: motivation (combines several indicators of motivation), reflexivity (sensitivity, depth and high moral standards), anxiety (made a negative impact; combines concentration on one’s sensitivity to failures, anxiety, tension, emotional instability), media scale (audience size, audience feedback, salary), willingness to communicate (combines some communicative properties and temperamental qualities), social values (status, respect, social activity, etc.) and innovation (radicalism, nonconformism, dominance, the value of knowledge).
